What to expect from coaching
You might be wondering what actually happens in a coaching session. Here is the honest answer.
Coaching is a conversation with a purpose. You bring something that matters to you. Maybe it is a decision you keep circling, a change you are moving through, or a quiet sense that something needs to shift. My job is not to hand you answers. My job is to ask the kinds of questions that help you hear what you already know.
I work from a simple belief. You are the expert on your own life. You have lived every moment of it. What coaching offers is space, attention, and honest questions, so that your own wisdom can rise to the surface.
A few things you can expect
You will do most of the talking. I will do most of the listening.
You set the direction. Each session begins with what feels most alive for you that day.
You will probably be surprised by what you say. Most clients are. Speaking your thoughts out loud to someone who is fully listening changes what you can see.
You will leave with something. Sometimes a clear next step. Sometimes a new question worth living with. Both count as progress.
Is coaching the same as therapy?
No, and the difference matters. Therapy often works with healing, mental health, and making sense of the past. Coaching works with a life that is fundamentally okay and asks what wants to happen next. If you are struggling with your mental health, a registered therapist is the right support, and I will always say so honestly. Coaching and therapy can also work beautifully side by side.
If reading this brings a small feeling of yes, I would love to meet you. A discovery call is simply a conversation. No pressure, no pitch. Just a chance to see how it feels to think out loud together.

Ten questions to sit with when you feel stuck
A short practice in listening to yourself. Find twenty quiet minutes, a notebook, and a pen. Read one question at a time and write whatever comes, without editing. There are no right answers. There are only your answers.
- What am I tolerating right now that I have stopped noticing?
- If nothing changed for the next two years, how would I feel?
- What do I already know that I have been pretending not to know?
- When did I last feel most like myself? What was I doing?
- Whose voice is loudest in my head when I imagine changing something? Is it mine?
- What am I afraid people would think if I did what I actually want?
- What would I try if I trusted myself completely?
- What is one small thing I keep postponing? What is it waiting for?
- If a dear friend described my exact situation to me, what would I notice about it?
- What is the kindest true sentence I can say to myself today?
If one of these questions opened something in you, that is what a coaching session feels like, for a full session, with someone who is genuinely listening. When you are ready to explore that, you can book a discovery call. Bring whatever came up. That is more than enough to begin.

How to arrive at your first session
People sometimes ask how to prepare for coaching, as if there might be homework. There is not. But there are a few gentle things that make a real difference.
Come as you are
You do not need a polished goal or a tidy story. Confusion is a completely valid starting point. Some of the best sessions begin with the words I am not even sure what to say.
Give yourself the hour
Find a quiet spot where you will not be interrupted. Turn off your notifications. If you can, leave a little space on either side of the session rather than rushing in from one meeting and out to another.
Notice what you keep thinking about
In the day or two before we talk, simply notice what your mind keeps returning to. That is usually where we should begin. You might jot a line or two down, or just bring the noticing.
Choose honesty over performance
You never need to impress me. The more honest you are, even about being unsure, the more useful our conversation becomes.
Expect questions, not instructions
I will not tell you what to do with your life. I will help you hear yourself more clearly than you can alone. Clients are often surprised by how much they already know.
Let it settle afterward
Insight keeps arriving after the call ends. A short walk or a few minutes of quiet after a session helps it land.
That is all. You bring yourself and your honesty. I bring my full attention and good questions. The rest we discover together.
